On Wednesday 29 August, a group of our Year 9 students attended the Australian Business and Community Network’s Goals Program, hosted by the prestigious Gilbert + Tobin Lawyers.
In this program, students have a one-on-one mentor from a large corporation working with them to achieve their goals, helping students by increasing their confidence, communication, goal setting and interview techniques.
The Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN) is a not-for-profit organisation that partners schools with business through the development and delivery of mentoring programs for students from disadvantaged schools.
Entirely business-funded, ABCN is made up of over 30 member companies that represent a breadth of industries and include well-recognised national and global organisations.
Our students displayed exemplary honesty and integrity during the session and spoke highly of the program and the opportunity they had been provided to mix with their lawyer mentors.
