In-Class Teaching Support and Professional Growth

At Monterey, we pride ourselves on creating a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Our instructional model is grounded in the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0, and our approach is underpinned by trauma informed practices, including the Berry Street Education Model.

If you have not yet completed Berry Street Training, this will form part of your professional development during your first year at the college.

We also offer a structured and comprehensive coaching programme, which includes:

  • One on one mentoring
  • Coaching groups
  • Team teaching opportunities
  • Targeted feedback on practice

As a new staff member, you will also take part in our induction process, designed to support you through your first six months at Monterey. This program will help you become familiar with key school processes and ensure a smooth transition into our community.
